Does the Rear Camera App require a subscription?
No. The Rear Camera App does not require a subscription. Recording, viewing and downloading your footage does not require any ongoing monthly payment. You can upgrade inside the APP for additional features BUT we do not recommend the upgraded features and you do not need these.
How long does the Rear Camera battery last?
Up to 9 hours with no Light, or around 8 hours with Daystime Flash & 6hrs with Solid Light. Battery life will reduce if WiFi is left switched on and connected to the app, so we recommend turning WiFi off while riding and only connecting when needed.
Does the Rear Camera work well in low light?
Yes. The Rear Camera uses a good-quality chipset and sensor that gives useful low-light performance for night riding, commuting and darker road conditions.
Can the Rear Camera capture vehicle number plates?
Yes, in many normal riding situations the Rear Camera can capture vehicle number plates, particularly in daylight and good visibility. As with any action camera, results can vary with speed, distance, lighting, weather and the angle of the vehicle.
Can I use Rear Camera footage to report a close pass to the police?
Yes. UK police forces accept cyclist camera footage through schemes such as Operation Snap and other force-specific reporting systems. The Rear Camera records continuous MP4 video with a date and time stamp burned into the footage. To preserve an incident, copy the relevant file from the SD card before loop recording overwrites it.
How does loop recording work?
The Rear Camera records continuously in short video segments. When the SD card becomes full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten so the camera can continue recording without you having to manually delete files. We recommend setting the Loop Segments to 3 Minutes because this is the perfect video file length when sending to the police with regards to time showing what happened before and after the incident and also file size without editing NB. Police want unedited raw video as evidence)
What size microSD card can I use?

Can I view footage on my phone?
Yes. You can connect to the camera using WiFi and the compatible app to review or delete footage. You can also remove the microSD card and view files directly on a computer using a card reader.
Can I mount the Rear Camera be underneath my Seat?
Yes. The Rear Camera Can be fitted under the saddle using the Rear Saddle Mount which can be added at checkout
Does the Rear work in the rain?
Yes. The Rear Camera is rated IPX67 and is designed for riding in rain, sleet and snow. It is weatherproof can actually withstand being submerged if all the rubber plugs are in place.
Should I use a front camera, rear camera or both?
Using both gives the most complete coverage. RecordMax records what happens ahead, while a rear-facing camera can capture close passes and incidents occurring behind you. If budget allows, front and rear cameras together provide the strongest overall coverage.
How long does it take to charge the Rear Camera battery?
It takes 3hrs to charge the Battery to 100% using the USB-C cable provided.
