No. The RecordMax App does not require a subscription. Recording, viewing and downloading your footage does not require any ongoing monthly payment. You can upgrade inside the APP for additional features BUT we do not recommend the upgraded features and you do not need these.

Up to 7 hours at 1080p and 30fps, or around 6.5 hours at 2K. Battery life will reduce if WiFi is left switched on and connected to the app, so we recommend turning WiFi off while riding and only connecting when needed.

Yes, in many normal riding situations the RecordMax can capture vehicle number plates, particularly in daylight and good visibility. As with any action camera, results can vary with speed, distance, lighting, weather and the angle of the vehicle.

Yes. UK police forces accept cyclist camera footage through schemes such as Operation Snap and other force-specific reporting systems. RecordMax records continuous MP4 video with a date and time stamp burned into the footage. To preserve an incident, copy the relevant file from the SD card before loop recording overwrites it.

RecordMax records continuously in short video segments. When the SD card becomes full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten so the camera can continue recording without you having to manually delete files. We recommend setting the Loop Segments to 3 Minutes because this is the perfect video file length when sending to the police with regards to time showing what happened before and after the incident and also file size without editing NB. Police want unedited raw video as evidence)

Yes. RecordMax is rated IPX66 and is designed for riding in rain, sleet and snow. It is weatherproof rather than submersible, so it should not be immersed in water.

The RecordMax is primarily designed to be used from its built-in battery while riding. For normal use, fully charge the camera before setting off.

Using both gives the most complete coverage. RecordMax records what happens ahead, while a rear-facing camera can capture close passes and incidents occurring behind you. If budget allows, front and rear cameras together provide the strongest overall coverage.
